Mongkul Sovann
Mongkul Sovann FM was launched in 2007 in Siem Reap province by Heng Sovann and his family. From 2009, the station started to extend its coverage to Battambang, Sihanoukville (2010), Kampong Cham (2011), Banteay Meanchey (2012), Pursat (2013), and Kampot (2014).
Mongkul Sovann FM broadcasts a variety of programs ranging from entertainment and education to problem solving. It is also a platform for advertising products imported by Mongkul Sovann Trading Co., Ltd, its parent company which was registered with the Ministry of Commerce in 2013.
Mongkul Sovann FM sells airtime for advertisement and other programs as well such as 'Civic Education', a program produced by the Institute for Civic Education, a platform known to be critical of the CNRP. In 2015, Chhim Phal Virun, the host of the show and the director if the Institute, was appointed [spokesman of Cambodian People's Party. Still in 2015, his co-host, Satya Rak, also a former presenter for Bayon Radio and Television, died in 2015. As of today, 'Civic Education' program is still aired on Mongkul Sovann FM.

Phone Interview with Heng Sovann, Owner of Mongkul Sovann Radio
The Cambodian media landscape counts at least two new outlets, a TV and a newspaper. Since the former started its daily activity and the latter its broadcasting in 2015, MOM decided not to include as most relevant medium. With less than a year of existence, the audience shares would not be representative of their popularity.
It can be highlighted, however, that their growth is taking place rapidly and their strategy seems more aggressive than the existing media on the market. Both are now hiring journalists and newsroom staffs from existing newsrooms, heightening the competition on both TV and print sectors, which are already highly concentrated.
