Sok Chamroeun
Sok Chamroeun is the owner, Director, and CEO of Phnom Penh Cable Television (PPCTV) Co., LTD, that operates CTV8, a free-to-air channel. In addition to PPCTV, he is also the CEO and Director of Angkor Cable Television, LTD (AKCTV), the main broadcaster of cable TV in Siem Reap and Kompong Thom province, and CKCTV Cable TV in Sihanoukville.
In 2009, Sok was granted a license by the Ministry of Information to distribute online TV (IPTV) over its fiber-optic network, creating a monopoly in the sector. The same year, he was appointed as an Advisor to the Ministry of Information with a rank equal to director general. He is also a member of Cambodian Red Cross’s committee, an organization run by the wife of the Prime Minister. He holds the titles of Excellency and Oknha.
